Metso Automation receives the PCN Europe Award 2008
On the Hannover Show, Germany, the PCN Europe Award was presented to Metso Automation, Finland, for their Neles Rotary- Globe control valve. PCN Europe editor Constanze Schmitz handed the award to Vesa Lempinen, the product manager of Neles RotaryGlobe. The product offers a combination of the features of proven linear and rotary valve technologies and attracted the interest of a high number of PCN Europe readers. The flow characteristics of this valve are just like those of a globe valve and its globe-style body design leads to a high pressure- recovery factor. The small-bore control valve is capable of operating cost-effectively up to ASME 1500 pressure class. These factors combined with compact size and the low emission characteristics of a rotary valve create a design, which offers higher standards of performance in flow-control accuracy and reliability, while reducing lifetime costs and maintenance requirements.

Endress+Hauser Flowtec opens calibration facility
"It puts us in a position to satisfy even the highest customer requirements without any compromise whatsoever”, as CEO Dr. Gerhard Jost was pleased to announce at the ceremony marking the opening of the new facility in Reinach, Switzerland. Uniformly high product quality is one of the most important goals set by Endress+Hauser. Thirty influencing variables in all were taken into account in order to achieve the excellent performance of this facility. Dr. Hugo Bissig from the Federal Office of Metrology (METAS) in Bern and Mr. August Schaub from the Swiss Accreditation Service (SAS) represented the Swiss accreditation authorities at the opening, and had the opportunity of seeing for themselves just how this reliability is implemented. All Endress+Hauser's flow calibration facilities are accredited by widely different national authorities – including for example SAS, A2LA and CNAS - in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025.
