The isolating spark gaps EXFS 100 and EXFS 100 KU are usable in hazardous areas zone 1 and 21. Tested according to EN 50164-3 they are applied in functionally separate parts of installations where inadmissiblyhigh potential differences can arise. With a lightning impulse currentcarrying capability of 100kA (10/350ìs) the ATEX-certified isolatingspark gaps EXFS 100 (KU) provide the highest class ‘H’ of lightning current carrying capability. Characteristics are a low rated impulse sparkover voltage, a high 50Hz rated power frequency withstand voltage and a high 50Hz rated discharge current. Prewired connecting cables andconnection brackets in flat and angled design complete the very compact spark gaps (100mm long, 45mm diameter). Also the installation of thenew isolating spark gaps EXFS 100 (KU) within the scope of the EC-Type-Examination Certificate does not require any special terms to be considered due to the solid mechanical execution in IP 67.
