The basic light guides for front panels 1282x and 1293x come in a watertight assembly according to IP68 without additional
adhesive bonding. A specific tight geometry at the light guide combined with an exactly pre-determined (reamed) tight-fitting bore in the case grants easy assembly without the need for additional steps. Wherever severe environmental effects, spray or condensate shape the daily operating routine of general
control electronics, the light guide guarantees a safe transmission of signal modes from the front of the housing to thesurroundings. The big variability of length, which represented an important criterion with the proven basic light guides already, has been taken to a new peak with this innovation: it is now possible to realiseall lengths from 4.5 to 100mm. Colour admixtures can be added to thetransparent polycarbonate plastics so that the light guide may indicate the active colour mode even when it is passive.
