The SVI II ESD digital positioner is designed for emergency shutdown valve automation and in-service valve partial stroking. The product, SIL3 compliant and designed in accordance with IEC61508, is suitable forusage in safety instrumented functions. It allows for a single wire-pair solution for both the safety shutdown function and partial stroketesting (PST) function with SIL3 compliance, virtually eliminating theneed for solenoids. By maximizing artificial intelligence at the device level the user usable and actionable information regardless of thePST execution method. The SVI II ESD can be implemented using a 4-20mAsignal, 0-24Vdc or a combination of both. The device captures shutdown events, allows continuous HART communications during a trip and facilitates local panel annunciation using the built-in discrete outputs.The SVI II ESD automatically captures the PST in its non-volatile memory and stores the analysis. Two signatures can be stored, allowing thesoftware to synchronize its database with field data. The positionercomplies with various hazardous areas certifications (ATEX, FM, CSA …).
