The Trailing Shield is a a lightweight component to keep welds brightand shiny. Applications include the fabrication of piping and sheetmetal structures, made from stainless steels, reactive alloys, nickelalloys, nimonics and titanium. By adding a Trailing Shield to a Tig/Gtaw welding torch the hot weld joint stays under a protective argon gasshroud while cooling so that the heated metal doesn’t oxidize on contact with air. The shields are available for any diameter of pipe etc.and in a flat format for welding sheets or plates. Replaceable siliconrubber seals prevent the argon from escaping. It is delivered with avariable diameter connector so that it can fit any size of Tig/Gtaw/Paw welding torch whether for manual or mechanised welding.
