The Vegapuls 67 radar sensor is designed for application in areaswhere, for economical reasons, ultrasonic instruments or capacitive probes were used until now. An innovative antenna system of plastic makes it possible to offer the devices at a considerably lower price. Thetried-and-true pulse radar technology, with its signal sensitivity andecho evaluation specially optimised for bulk solids, remains at the heart of the instrument. The sensor suits applications in medium-sizedsilos up to 15m high and covers the majority of standard applicationsin industries that process bulk solids: from the food industry to plastics warehousing right through to building materials production and processing. The mounting concept makes it easy to adapt the small, light sensors to existing mounting apertures. The two-wire technology enables problem-free replacement of obsolete measuring systems, since the existing connection wiring can be used. The sensor has all therelevant ATEX approvals for use in dust Ex hazardous areas.
