The Processing world meets at INTERKAMA
|
The INTERKAMA+,part of Hannover Messe 16-20 April 2007, covers all aspects of process automation - from individual components to complete automation solutions, as well as engineering and maintenance services. Representatives from a wide spectrum of industries will be present - chemicals and pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, food and semi-luxuries, mechanical and plant engineering, cellulose, utility and waste disposal, and the iron and steel industry. The Forum INTERKAMA+ functions as an information and communication hub for the process automation industry. Short lectures and panel discussions are held before an audience of professionals.

Honeywell Wins Project With KPPC
|
Honeywell has been awarded a $7 million contract to implement an Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS) and FOUNDATION Fieldbus solution at a new chemical plant operated by Kuwait Paraxylene Production Company KPPC). Honeywell is partnering with Italian contractor Tecnimont SpA and Korea-based SK Engineering & Construction to implement the solution, which will reduce installation and maintenance costs while boosting performance. The plant will produce aromatics materials, mainly paraxylene for exportation and benzene that will be used in other regional projects. Due to start production in 2009, the site will be the first major FOUNDATION Fieldbus customer in Kuwait. The new aromatics production facility will be a major contributor to KPPC’s future growth. KPPC chose Honeywell because of the experience of its local team and its ability to deliver a smooth, low-cost implementation.

Invensys and Transpara announce global partnership
|
Transpara Corporation and Invensys ProcessSystems have announced a global partnership through which Invensys Process Systems becomes a global reseller and certified implementer for Transpara's Visual KPI operations intelligence software. The only composite Key Performance Indicator (KPI) engine available on the market, Visual KPI delivers on-demand, business-critical data about process manufacturing and utility operations to any handheld or desktop browser. "Transpara's innovative Visual KPI technology will provide important incremental value for our large installed base of automation customers," said Chris Lyden, vice president of global marketing at Invensys Process Systems. "This new technology will enable personnel in our customers' process manufacturing and utility plants to remotely monitor - in near-real-time - both process variables and custom-defined KPIs from their familiar handheld mobile computing or communications devices, including both PDAs and smartphones."

Rockwell Automation Acquires ProsCon Holdings Ltd

Rockwell Automation, Inc has acquired ProsCon Holdings Ltd., a privately held engineering firm offering proven and technically unique design solutions to the process industry. Areas of expertise include process technology, control systems and information technology. ProsCon also provides modular solutions as an innovative and cost-effective approach delivering faster implementation of new facilities as well as retrofits for existing plants. This modular approach helps customers speed up their time to market for new products. Headquartered in Cork, Ireland, with an office in Dublin, ProsCon primarily serves major customers in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets.
