A standard range of economical precision orifices manufactured in bothruby and sapphire are available. Each orifice is laser bored and diamond-wire lapped. Standard sizes start from an inner diameter of 0.5µm, they are virtually wear-free, have zero porosity and are chemically inert. These orifices can be used under working pressures of 275bar and with a melting point in excess of 2000ºC. Applications include medical implants, ink jet printing, gas metering, sand blasting, water jets, chromatography, and the fluid power industry.
