Fastwel CPU modules and extension boards are widely used for mission critical applications in which there is a demand for reliable work in harsh operating conditions: industrial automation, transport, telecommunications, aerospace industry, power engineering and medicine. The Fastwel MicroPC industrial controller is installed in the space scientific-research satellite Mozhaets-4. The choice of the programmable logiccontroller CPU188-5MX was influenced by the following factors: this device is capable of working at the extended temperature range of -40°Cto 85°C; it is highly resistant to shock (forces to 20g) and vibration(5g); its MTBF is 100,000 hours. The satellite Mozhaets-4 was set inoperation in orbit about two years ago. Over this period the on-boardequipment, including CPU188-5MX, proved to be feature rich, reliable in harsh operating conditions, and radiatio-resistant. Fastwel CPU modules and SBCs are also widely used as hardware support in automatic train driving systems for electric, passenger and freight trains.
