he GS110 Infrared Thermal Imaging System for low emissivity (Low-E) glass is designed to monitor one-side coated flat glass during the tempering process. By design, this glass has a very low emissivity (high reflection) so simply scanning from the topside of the glass will provide erroneous readings, as the correct emissivity will not be factored into the temperature determination. The GS110 simultaneously measures the temperature on the uncoated side of the glass where the emissivityis both known and significantly higher. The measured data are then transferred to the Windows-based software that automatically corrects thethermal image of the topside. This allows glass processors to improveproduct quality and uniformity, and to reduce scrap. The system allows the set-up of predefined recipes to accommodate frequent product changes typical in glass processes such as glass loads of differing thickness and features an automatic emissivity correction mode that adjuststo changes between different glass loads.
