Hot water for district heating stations, hospitals or offices, or steam for the production of beer, textile finishing and food production are typical areas of application for Loos International. But there are also a number of unusual applications for Loos boilers, such as the Mittelplate oil platform. The artificially-constructed drilling and oil conveyor platform is located 7km from the coast in the Wattenmeer tidelands in Germany. During winter the platform, which is covered in ice because of the spray water, has to be de-iced repeatedly, for safety reasons. The existing system that had been used for this had become obsolete and has been replaced by a Loos quick steam generator Dampffix DF600 with 10/13 bar pressure. A fully automatic ABA-DF boiler controlensures that the boiler and all system modules are matched to each other so that any potentially damaging operation is avoided.
