A new WAGO speciality module enables vibration measurements to be analysed and wear on bearings or similar parts to be diagnosed. Vibrationmeasurements are used for monitoring wear conditions so that damage can be prevented. Prüftechnik Condition Monitoring GmbH has specialisedin vibration monitoring and now Prüftechnik sensors can be directly connected to the WAGO-I/O- speciality module. The vibration behaviour ofa machine component is recorded by the piezo film sensor and directlyanalysed in the WAGO I/O module. If the vibration signal exceeds a specified limit the module generates a warning signal. This way, the protection of the machine can be seamlessly and conveniently integrated into the automation environment of the user. Condition-based maintenance is one of the most cost-effective maintenance strategies since the machines need only be repaired when required.
